Columbia Men's Cathedral Peak Vest Review

Columbia Men's Cathedral Peak Vest
Average Reviews:

I really like Columbia Sportswear Jackets, so decided to try the vest ... The fabric is the same soft, warm, fleece as the jackets but the fit in the vest seems awkward ... For instance the XL in the jacket is a perfect fit for me, but in the vest I had to exchange the XL for a L ... The vest seems to run a size larger, and I think it would be a better design had they also included the bottom draw strings on the vest as they have on the jackets (being that the vests cost as much as the jackets) ... Had I been able to find a brown vest in the style of a black one I got from Land's End I would have returned this L also ... Bottom line for me Columbia Sportswear Jackets 5*'s, the best I can give this vest is 3*'s.

Wear this piece alone or layer it under a heavier jacket for the coldest days. Made from soft polyester fleece, this vest has a zip front and zip pockets for extra functionality. About Columbia Sportswear Founded in 1938, Columbia Sportswear Company has grown from a small family-owned hat distributor to one of the world's largest outerwear brands and the leading seller of ski-wear in the United States. Columbia's extensive product line includes a wide variety of outerwear, sportswear, rugged footwear and accessories. Columbia specializes in developing innovative products that are functional yet stylish and offer great value. Eighty-year-old matriarch Gert Boyle, Chairman of the Board, and her son, Tim Boyle, President and CEO, lead the company.
Columbia's history starts with Gert's parents, Paul and Marie Lamfrom, when they fled Germany in 1937. They bought a small hat distributorship in Portland, Oregon, and named it Columbia Hat Company, after the river bordering the city. Soon frustrated by poor deliveries from suppliers, the Lamfroms decided to start manufacturing products themselves. In 1948, Gert married college sweetheart Neal Boyle, who joined the family business and later took the helm of the growing company. When Neal suddenly died of a heart attack in 1970, Gert enlisted help from Tim, then a college senior. After that, it wasn't long before business really started to take off. Columbia was one of the first companies to make jackets from waterproof/breathable fabric. They introduced the breakthrough technology called the Columbia Interchange System, in which a shell and liner combine for multiple wearing options. This jacket is very well made, warm, light weight, comfortable, practical design, hold the shape and still looks like new after many washes. I thought this was to be a lightweight jacket but it's not. The lining is warm and the shell appears wind and water resistant. I was just looking for a windbreaker which was lightly lined for those days in the '40's, not something for the low 30's.

I ordered this for my 10 year old daughter. She has borrowed my fleece jacket a few times, and wanted one. She loves the color and it fits well. She is thin but tall......you need to order up on size.
My only complaint is that the material is thinner than my Columbia jacket. I hope it holds up as well.

Columbia Men's Faux Shearling Car Coat Review

Columbia Men's Faux Shearling Car Coat
Average Reviews:

I purchased this coat from Amazon recently and it is a great coat. Thick and warm, it is perfect for Midwest winters. Only issue is that the coat "sheds" the faux fur. Make sure you have a lint remover when wearing this coat, as it will look like you let a cat crawl all over you once you take the coat off. The coat is machine washable and I thought this would help with the shedding problem, but it hasn't.

Columbia Men's Steens Mountain Sweater Review

Columbia Men's Steens Mountain Sweater
Average Reviews:

I just got this and it seems to be a very well made light jacket, suitable for casual wear on cool days and evenings, particularly when I'm riding my bike or working outdoors and want something that will keep the chill off but not leave me sweltering and not restrict my movements. Cozy, yet flexible and breathable, this jacket fits my needs to a T.
This jacket has 2 zip-up pockets with lots of capacity.
There is no hood, but I find a hood useful only when scooting out to my car when it's raining.
There's an elastic drawstring around the bottom I don't think I'll need - it tightens via plastic spring-loaded doodads on each side.
The cuffs have elastic in them also, but not too much to be comfortable. I hate elastic cuffs that make me feel like my sleeves are bound to my wrists, but these are snug without being restrictive, just right!Everything considered, I think this is a fine replaceent for my old fleece jacket, better made, good looking, and every bit as servicable. It wouldn't do for someone trying to survive in the Arctic, I don't suppose, but it's just what I was looking for and I'm happy as a clam.

Rugged looks combined with a soft and comfortable feel describes the Steens Mountain Sweater by Columbia Sportswear. The polyester MTR (Maximum Thermal Retention) fleece means it's easy to clean, quick drying, and pill resistant. All in all, a lightweight zip-front sweater that's designed to pack away in a corner of your suitcase for weekends or entire weeks in the snow and elements. With radial sleeves and a drawcord hem, you won't be afraid to give it your all on a snowboard or the slalom course. Layer it under a windbreaker for cool evening strolls.

Columbia Sportswear Steens Mountain Full-Zip Fleece Jacket Review

Columbia Sportswear Steens Mountain Full-Zip Fleece Jacket
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I like the item in theory, but I have to give it only 3 stars because the sizing is so off. My son is a very average size and quite lean, and when this 18 month jacket arrived around his 16th month, it was already more or less too small. Way too short, too tight to have anything but a long-sleeved t-shirt underneath. He's still wearing many of his 12 month things, so I think this is an issue with their sizing. We are very disappointed.
I would use the age bracket as the MAXIMUM age it would fit a child and not the average or minimum. Definitely go up at least a size if you'd like to use it any longer than a week or two!

I am a US Firefighter currently in Afghanistan at 8,000ft elevation in the SE Mountains. I have had this Columbia Coat for a month and cannot say enough great things about it. Stain and water resilaiant, easy cleaning, great features with pockets and Zip-In Columbia Exchange Liner that can be used as a stand-alone zip sweater. Super warm and lightweight (Temps avg. High are 40F with lows 19F). Only complaint would be with the Images of the Colors on the site before I purchased it. I was not fully aware that the color Tusk was more of a sligtly darker Khaki, as it looked like a light Charcoal color on the web-site so, I did not get the ideal color. But it works great and I expect to own and use it for quiet sometime.

Mossi Tourtrak Black Men's Jacket Review

Mossi Tourtrak Black Men's Jacket
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I am 6'2 185lbs wear a 44 tall sport coat. Ordered this in a large and it fit really well. There won't be room for a lot of underlayers when it turns cold, but this is not my winter jacket. Bought this as fall-spring wet weather gear. The main zipper is a YKK, which is covered by a hook and loop storm flap. The rest of the zippers are some other brand, but they look fine. COMFY micro fiber on the neck band. It has 4 zippered outer pockets with stormflaps which are hook an loop to keep the flaps down- the two lower pocket flaps also have snaps. There are two pockets inside- one of them is for a cell phone. A nice feature here is that when you take out the zip-in liner, these two internal pockets are on the jacket, too. There are two snap adjusters on each sleeve to help keep the armor in place, two more under the arms for custom fit. Zippered air vents on each sleeve, two exhaust vents in the back. Zippered cuffs with hook and loop flaps. Reflective triangle at the neck in front, in the piping, and a strip on the back. So, do I like it? YES. I cannot attest to it's waterproof capabilities 'cause I havent ridden in heavy rain, yet. Overall quality and finish looks to be good.(made in Pakistan) The only thing I did not like was that this jacket had MOSSI tags ALL over it. (12-14, seriously) some careful work with a razor knife and small scissors made it all better. For $79.00 I am very happy with this item.
